Dear Citizens of Tourtoirac,
All 15 of us offer you our deepest thanks for your votes, which enabled 4 of
our team to be elected in the first round of the local elections.
We have presented our programme to you, both in the manifesto and at our public
meeting, therefore you know what we wish for Tourtoirac.
Monsieur Durand’s team is claiming to be more competent to manage the
commune. They are attempting to make you doubt our capacity to do
so.
These assertions are false!
Let us assure you, we know what Tourtoirac needs. It is for this reason
that
we have formed a list made up of people who are able to offer all the necessary
skills and competences to ensure good and sound management of our
commune.
In our manifesto, you are able to see in which areas each of us have particular
qualifications and professional experience.
We have not undertaken this task by chance, but to give you every guarantee to
which you have the right.
• We have studied all the essential
dossiers: water, highways, communal buildings and the Grotte
• We have contacted all the administrative centres
and public departments which are needed to sign covenants or to obtain
quotations.
• We have contacted the professional training
centres to offer a welcome to trainees who will work in the Sports and
Leisure areas in the Place des Platanes, for the benefit of our commune.
We explained everything to you at our public meeting – to which by the way,
Monsieur Durand’s team was invited. A debate would have been edifying but
Monsieur Durand’s team was conspicuous by their absence.
Therefore, we are capable of working efficiently – but very
differently.
We are a team adept at being transparent, at offering information and at
communicating with you.
• We are committed to producing very regular
municipal newsletters
• We are committed to consulting you on all the major
problems which may arise.
• We are committed to creating an Internet site with
an open forum.
• We are committed to creating open working parties
and groups outside of the Council, which will meet regularly.
You will be welcome to join all or any which suit and interest you.
• We are committed to providing free homework help to
all the commune’s children from primary age to 16+ - in Maths,
English, Physics and French.
• We are committed to working with all the local
associations.
These commitments will be upheld.
In 13 years, we have practically never been invited to any meetings where there
has been open and welcome admission.
People have been saying that we were against the opening of the Grotte.
That is just not true!
We have always believed that this is a very important discovery for Tourtoirac
– but we have signalled our reservations concerning how the project has been
managed.
We have feared that this major project exceeds the capacity of our
commune.
The project presented to us appeared very interesting, but we are right to be
concerned about an underestimation of the cost!
We should always be questioning ourselves about any economic shortfalls for the
village. The first feasibility study said that there would not be
any.
Think about it, it is not that we are against the Grotte, but on the contrary
take the subject very seriously.
• To be against the Grotte is to act irresponsibly and rashly
by wanting to open it at all costs, before the elections.
• To be against the Grotte is to act incompetently by
accelerating the works so much that one is finally obliged to stop the
work.
Following the confirmation of Monsieur le Prefet on 6th March 2008, each of our 3 candidates employed by CIAS at Hautefort can be elected and sit on the Municipal Council of Tourtoirac.
Dear Friends, you need competent elected members with free time to devote to
Tourtoirac – as several of our candidates already regularly do.
